MHQP Guidelines and Quality Improvement Tools

MHQP brings together a large number of Massachusetts health care organizations-- including the MA Department of Public Health, MA Medical Society, MA Hospital Association, physician specialty societies and several major health plans-- to endorse and disseminate a variety of evidence-based practice guidelines and quality improvement tools. 

Each tool is developed by a collaborative group of clinicians, representing public health, providers and health plans.  The tools are based on the latest recommendations from nationally recognized sources, such as the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

MHQP's goal in coming together to endorse a single set of recommendations or tool is to support Massachusetts clinicians' efforts to provide high quality, evidence-based care as well as to eliminate inconsistent guidelines. Guidelines and tools developed by MHQP include:
