Written asthma action plans helps patients have more control over their asthma, which can lead to less emergency department visits and hospitalizations. Written asthma action plans also helps doctors, patients and their families, and other community members communicate with each other better about how best the patient can live with their asthma. Massachusetts Health Quality Partners (MHQP) and representatives from 21 Massachusetts health care organizations joined together to endorse written asthma management plans.
